As the Paschal Triduum draws near, and church celebrations are once again allowed, here are the remaining activities at the Shrine of Jesus.
On April 8, the last Friday of Lent, there will be a Way of the Cross outside the Church after the 6:00 PM Mass.
April 10 is Palm Sunday. Before the 9:00 AM Mass, there will be a Blessing of Palms and Procession by the steps of the Shrine at 8:30 AM. Palm branches will be made available for sale outside the Church.
On April 12, Holy Tuesday, there will be a Kumpisalang Bayan from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM, after the 6:00 PM Holy Mass.
April 14 is Maundy Thursday. The Mass of the Lord’s Supper begins at 5:30 PM, which includes the Washing of the Feet of this year’s Apostle Actors and Actresses. The Procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose happens right after the Holy Mass, and the altar of repose will be open for vigil and Visita Ecclesia until 12:00 MN.
April 15 is Good Friday. The activities start with the Veneration of the Cross at 3:00 PM. The Way of the Cross will be held outside the street (Daang Krus sa Kalye), which culminates with the Blessing of a True Relic of the Holy Cross at 4:15 PM. The Good Friday Procession/Motorcade follows at 6:00 PM, and the activities for the day culminate with the Pagtatanod ng Santo Sepulchro at Mater Dolorosa after the Procession, which will be until 12:00 MN.
Easter Vigil Mass on April 16, Black Saturday, begins at 7:30 PM.
Easter Sunday Masses will be at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 5:30 PM. The 10:30 AM is the Concelebrated Mass, with Most Rev. Bishop Ted Bacani, Bishop Emeritus of Novaliches, as the Main Celebrant.
Please be reminded that Minimum Health Protocols are still implemented at the Shrine of Jesus. Face masks at all times and physical distancing as much as possible. Fully-vaccinated adults are allowed inside the Church. Children are allowed, provided they have an accompanying adult who is fully-vaccinated.
